Small Factories and Offices: What to Send for a Commercial Booster Pump Quote

Commercial booster pump installations are priced by setup. Here is what to send so a small factory or office quote can be prepared without guesswork.

A small factory, a workshop with an office upstairs or a commercial unit with staff toilets and a pantry has different water needs from a house. Demand can be concentrated at shift changes and lunch breaks, a process may need a steady supply, and the plant area is often shared with other equipment. That is why commercial booster pump installations are priced by setup rather than from a fixed list. This guide sets out what to send so the quote can be put together without guesswork.

Why commercial quotes are priced by setup

No two sites draw water the same way

One unit may only need firmer pressure for toilets and a pantry. Another may feed a washing bay, a cooling process or a row of wash basins used all at once. The number of outlets, how many run together and the height the water has to reach all shape the system.

Single pump or multi-pump skid

Some premises are well served by a single booster pump. Others are better suited to more than one pump working together on a skid, so the load is shared. Which setup fits is decided from your details and photos, not assumed in advance.

Access and existing plant

Commercial plant areas range from a tidy pump room to a corner behind the loading bay. Roof tanks, existing pumps, valves and electrical boards all affect the work involved, and so the price.

Premises and usage details

Tell us the type of premises (factory, warehouse with office, workshop, shoplot office), the number of floors, and what the water is used for: toilets, pantry, washing, process or a mix. Give a rough count of outlets and how many tend to run at the same time, especially at peak times such as shift changes.

Photos of the plant area

Send a wide photo of where the pump or pumps would go, close-ups of the incoming line, tank connections and existing valves, and photos of any pumps already installed, including their nameplates. If the tank is on the roof, show the tank and the route up to it.

Electrical supply

Photograph the nearest electrical board or isolator and the route between it and the pump area. Commercial setups often need more than basic wiring, and extra electrical wiring is quoted separately.

A short video helps

A short video walking from the incoming supply to the tank and pump area, and then to the furthest outlet, often answers questions that would otherwise need another round of messages. If there is an existing pump with a fault, include its sound; repair and diagnosis are quoted after photos and a video.

Symptoms worth describing

Pressure that drops at peak times

If toilets or basins on upper floors go weak when many people use them at once, or pressure drops when two or more outlets run, note when it happens and which floors are affected.

Uneven or weakening flow

Flow that changes through the day, or that is suddenly weaker than before, can point to an undersized system or a worn pump. Both are useful clues when sizing.

Processes that need steady supply

If a machine, washing bay or cooling setup depends on water, describe it and say how it behaves when pressure drops. We size around the real duty, not a guess.

Office and shoplot spaces

Small offices above shops

A shoplot office with a pantry and toilets may be much closer to a household setup. Even so, if the premises are commercial, the installation is priced by setup. For reference, our home packages, shown on the booster pump packages page, are Tsunami RM1,800 to RM2,200 and Grundfos RM3,600 to RM4,000; each comes with the pump unit, professional installation, basic wiring and pressure and function testing.

Your own pump

If you already have a pump for a small space, installation of a customer-supplied pump is RM800 per installation for a standard setup, covering the installation, basic wiring, test run and commissioning. Larger commercial work is still quoted by setup.

Industrial areas we hear from

Factories and workshops

Enquiries come from industrial areas such as Port Klang, Nilai and Kulim Hi-Tech, where factories and warehouses often combine a production floor with an office block. We take enquiries from anywhere in Malaysia; send the site address with your photos and we will tell you whether a visit can be arranged.

Getting the quote moving

Send the premises details, usage notes, photos and a short video. We will come back with the setup we recommend and the items involved, including any pipe modification, extra wiring or taking out existing pumps. Request a Quote
